B&B The Noorderhuis

We spent last week in the Netherlands, where we slept three nights in a lovely merchant traders house in "Zaanse schans". The "Noorderhuis" was built in 1670 and has been restored and extended several times during its history. The house has served as a museum for years, but is a B&B now.

There were so many beautiful details in every room.

The kitchen had all the original tiles and they were all different.

I really liked the colors of the kitchen cabinets.

Small surprises in every corner.

You could see the river "the Zaan" from every window.

We shared a huge bedroom with the kids.
It had an impressive old fireplace.

The wallpaper felt like some sort of tissue.

"Delfts blue" modern style.

Isn't it amazing to think of all the people who lived and died in this house during the centuries!
