We have two reasons to celebrate today:
Firstly, my oldest son graduated from high school. We are so proud of him. It is such a relief after all these years, especially in primary school, of homework and dictations. It's almost like giving birth, it was hard work, but it was worth it.
And secondly Holland has reached the quarter finals of the Soccer World Cup.
Although all our children have both the Dutch and Luxembourgish nationality, they feel like Luxembourgers (it took me some time to accept this), because they were born (at least the first two) and raised here. However, during the 4 weeks of the World Cup they feel very Dutch!!
So, I thought I might as well combine the two happy events and bake some Dutch inspired cupcakes.
