Skittles and bowls

There is something about skittles that I like. I think it is the wood and the shape of them. I collected lots of them over the years as you can see. I also like old English lawn bowls and the smaller ones with numbers, the table bowls, are my favorites. I have put everything together in a very old wooden box from a flea market in Belgium, just on the other side of the border. According to the seller, it was used to put in the bread to let it rise. And do you see the finials? They used to be on top of old clocks and I once bought a whole lot of them from somebody in Holland. I just know that I am going to need them some day for some special project....

  1. Mooi hout!

  2. Oh I love those. I am still not sure what they are, but the wood and the shapes are wonderful

  3. In America, Skittles is the name of a candy that my kids love, so when I read the second line about the liking the wood, I knew they had to be something different. I think it would be similar to what we call bowling here. My husband loves to bowl, but I'm not very good at it. I love these wooden pins, and the finials are very pretty too.
    Blessings,
