As you might have read in my profile, we have a daughter from South Africa. Did you know that african hair is so difficult to handle? I didn't (but I do now!).
Her first african braids when she was two.
This is how the hair looks after having taken out the old braids. She doesn't look very happy because it hurts and it is a long procedure every +/- 6 weeks. Fortunately her hairdresser, an african lady from Cameroon, is very kind and VERY patient.
Around her 6th birthday, we could finally use the special "shampoo" to make the hair easier to handle. You cannot believe how relieved I am.
And this is her today. She loves long extensions. It is so much easier for her (and for me) now. Usually I take out the old braids in the evening myself, bring her to the hairdresser the next day and pick her up two hours later. What a relieve after 5,5 years of hair-stress!
